Hello and Happy Monday!

It has been a busy month so far! I have been teaching and working on future projects for classes. I am also creating more items to add the Etsy shop. Please stay tuned for updates...

I also have a new class coming up in a few weeks at Whim So Doodle. It is a hodge-podge style mini album that is chock-full of "stuff". There are so many textures and shapes in this book. It was so much fun making this mini.

There is no one theme to it, but I liked the idea of doing a summary/review of 2011. Since 2011 isn't over it is a work in progress, but it could be for a year past or for 2012. It is so versatile in its colors and patterns that it could be for anything really.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to All,

I hope everyone had a great Holiday Season and a Happy New Year. I have been busy at work on new classes for the New Year! I have two classes in the Tampa area this month.

The first one is at Scraporium on Saturday, January the 15th from 2-5 pm. It is called French Couture Family Mini Album. The title on the cover of the demo is "Our Family". In this class you will receive a whole package of mini chipboard alphas by Maya Road, so you could change the title if desired. I love the colors and textures in this book, it has a fun and modern take on the traditional Family Scrapbook colors. This mini is made with papers from Lily Bee, and Pink Paislee's House of Three. It has lots of techniques, and textures. The pages are in different sizes, and there are envelopes, 7Gypsies Ephemera Cards and Crepe paper goodness! We will also make our own flowers like the ones on the cover of the Demo. Lots of fun stuff! For class details and more information please go to Scraporium's website.

The second class will be at Scrapendipity Retreats's Winter Wondercrop. I love going to Scrapendipity Retreats' crops! You can attend the classes there even if you aren't attending the crop.

This a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day with a beautifully decorated Heart-Shaped mini album. In this class we will use a variety of textures (papers from the new Pink Paislee "Sweetness" collection, a transparency, crepe paper, a doily, gold leaf, tickets, fabric paper, pins, and more) combined with lots of techniques to create a keepsake that can be used as a gift for someone special.

This class will have a limited number of seats available on Saturday January 29th, so if you are interested please contact Brenda Lewandoski at Scrapendipity Retreats  for more information and to reserve a spot.

I am super excited and am looking forward to teaching in the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hello December!

Wow it is already December! I have started getting ready for Christmas and have been busy busy!

I had such a great time at yesterday's Guild meeting! Our guest speaker was Diana Hollingsworth Gessler. She is so talented and inspirational. I signed up for her upcoming workshop. I am so excited, and am going to make my own blank art journal/scrapbook/sketchbook to bring with me to the class. I will make the book from art paper and book board. Once completed I will share how to make your own blank book in a tutorial. Stay tuned!

Also, for show and tell, I showed my tree that I made over the Thanksgiving weekend. Amanda and I were inspired by the Festive Trees How To in the December 2010 edition of Scrapbooks, etc... so we each made a tree for the holidays. I paired it up with a few other trees I had to make a group. It was a lot of fun. I definitely want to make more!

My embellishment challenge item was poinsettia paperclips. I love office supplies, and any way that I can use them in scrapbooking is always fun for me. So in the spirit of the Christmas holidays I made some flower clips. So easy to do,  Heres how:

1. Sandwich a jumbo paper clip between two flowers (can be same size or slightly different, I used the poinsettias by Prima), hold together with a strong adhesive. I like to use Fabri-Tac or Scrappy Glue, let dry.

2. Place a dab of adhesive in the center of the top flower of the sandwich and fill with beads (pictured), or sequins, microbeads, or other fun objects. Let dry.

And that's it! Super fast, super easy and fun!

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday!

What a great weekend this has been!

I have been "on the go" since Saturday a.m. starting with a trip to Whim So Doodle  where I bought some beautiful scrapbooking supplies and shopped their garage sale. There were lots of great finds! I bought a lot of organizing-type items (which I have been needing) from the vendors and also purchased some great mini albums and scrapbooking supplies. I also got to visit with wonderful friends, had very tasty food, and took a wonderful Christmas Mini Album class with Mou Saha at Scraporium.

While at the mall today I came across a really great catalog from Teavana. It was so beautiful - with gorgeous artwork and illustrations, and it had me thinking again of art journals - so neat and really fun to read.  It was so nice to see all the Christmas decorations in the shops and had me thinking of the holidays. Thanksgiving will be here soon. I am looking forward to time with family, eating yummy turkey, and am ready to do some holiday baking.

I have also been busy at work designing my next class for the upcoming Scrapendipity Retreats event. It will be a Valentine's themed mini album using many items from the new Pink Paislee Sweetness collection. I will be posting some sneak peeks soon.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Sunday!
Kelly
